Los Rancheros Kiwanis celebrated its 50th Anniversary on June 3, 2017, at the StoneRidge Country Club. And when you think about it, Los Rancheros Kiwanis, has very closely parallelled the history of Rancho Bernardo. Consider this, when our club was born on September 13th, 1967, the city of Rancho Bernardo was a fledgling town of about 5,000 people. It’s been a wild ride and in our colorful and storied history, TOGETHER, we have positively affected the lives of more than 825,000 children, one child at a time. It has been said that for every year you serve in Kiwanis, you positively make a difference in the lives of 200 children. So whether this is your first year serving in Kiwanis or your 33rd year like Michael Farrell, as your 50th President, I personally want to thank each and every one of you for your commitment to improving the lives of kids and for helping to build unstoppable self-confidence in children, one child at a time. Tonight, we celebrate our club, our community, and each other. We look forward to the next 50 years of helping kids prosper!
